These three ladies were KILLING it between sets last night at Bastille Day. As they were droppin low, two stepping, and scrubbing the ground to 2 Live Crew’s “Hoochie Mama”, i couldn’t help but think how much has changed since that album came out. I had to sneak over to Kris Kowgios’ house to listen to “As Nasty As They Wanna Be”, and here was the same group, being blasting down a tree lined gentrified street, to the claps, cheers, and hip shakes of everyone at this FAMILY block party. I can’t even IMAGINE an old white lady cheer on three girls grinding to “Hoochie Mama” back in 1989, and yet, over 20 years later…here we are. amazing. (Taken with Instagram)
